I woke up early. Everything looked yellow and orange. I looked out the window and saw the branches of the willow tree hanging there, still as can be. I climbed down from my bunk and looked at my brother. All I could see were his feet, his bony feet and ankles sticking out of a big mountain of covers. I stood there for a while, staring at him. Fuckin' asshole! I thought. Then I went to go pee. As I peed, I looked over as I always did at those two little monsters in the door, in the dark grain of the wood of the door. I looked at their faces, at their birdlike bodies. They were still scary, that's for sure, but there was a lot more to it than that. They were buddies, ya know. Anyone could see that. You could tell by the way they stood arm in arm together. Or maybe they didn't have any arms? It was hard to tell. I looked into their eyes, deep into those four evil eyes. Yeah, they were pretty scary alright. I was afraid they might even call out my name, ya know, or one of their heads would tilt or something. I looked away, down at the mass of pee bubbles whirling around in the bowl. I spit, trying to bomb them but I missed. After I stopped peeing, I spit again and split the whole goddamn thing clear in half! I smiled. Things would never be the same down there again. A whole world of bubbles had been obliterated, two sections were now swirling around on their own. And not even that would I allow to exist. Nope, I flushed them away, just like that, and then I headed down the hall towards my parent’s room. I heard the blowdryer going and saw light beneath the door. But just as I knocked, I remembered, I remembered my mother wasn't home at all, she was back in some hospital somewhere, this time somewhere really far away. But I had already knocked and I heard the blowdryer turn off and for some reason I knocked again and then all of a sudden the door opened and my father was there, standing there naked with that big purple headed penis hanging down. “What’s the matter?” he asked. I felt my chest tighten up, my throat getting all dry. I quickly looked up at his face, at that angry, angry face.
